Causes of Forklift Brake System Failures and Solutions

       1. The forklift’s two wheels cannot be braked simultaneously, resulting in uneven braking.
  Causes and solutions:

  1) If the clearance between the forklift’s two brakes is unequal, or if there is blockage in the brake lines, adjust the brake clearances directly or clear the blocked lines.
  2) If there is oil contamination inside the forklift’s brake drum or if the brake shoes are twisted and deformed, the oil must be removed, or the brake shoes must be repaired or replaced.
  3) Air has entered the forklift’s brake lines; the air must be bled from the brake lines.
   2. The forklift’s parking brake is ineffective.
  Causes and solutions:
The cause of this malfunction is slack handbrake cable; simply adjust the tension of the handbrake cable.
   3. Forklift brake failure
  Causes and solutions:

  1) The clearance between the forklift’s brake drum and brake shoes is too large; adjust the clearance between the brake drum and brake shoes.
  2) The inlet and outlet valves of the forklift brake master cylinder have failed; inspect and repair these valves.
  3) The forklift brake friction pads are excessively worn and should be replaced directly.
  4) The contact area of the forklift friction plate is insufficient; repair the friction plate.
